Jesus uses fiction: parable of the sower, prodigal son, talents, to explain a deeper truth about non-fiction. The capacity to tell stories, speak indirectly, use analogies, humor, art, or apparently non-religious things to impart God is not a deficiency, or a lack of fervor, but reveals a depth of understanding and fullness of love. Don't be one dimensional people. It's not the real thing. Have a cigar, a glass of wine, watch Shakespeare, read the funnies, go to a museum, take/teach a physics class, go hunting, play chess, dance like a diva and sing like a star, offering it all to God who gives all these things as a parable for how much he loves and how he loves you. Keep it real.
