Chastity isn't repression. It's not fake or unnatural, nor does it make you weird, rigid, or neurotic. Unchastity causes depression, compulsion, and unnatural preoccupations to dominate ones vision. Chastity is the appeal to the body's deeper longing for greater and higher communion. The biochemical make-up, the emotional inclinations of the human heart all reveal that it is hardwired like a swan instinctually to mate for life. Self mastery is important to be faithful to one spouse every day for life. This fidelity instinct can be directed to live celibacy, i.e. perpetual continence, which is possible only when our interior is intimately united to this deeper longing for purest love. Prudence is needed to avoid anything that clouds this union and custody of the heart from straying after false or lesser loves. Oh and when you do harness this deeper and purer love, you become full to overflowing with explosive joy!

Why do bad things happen to good people? Why did typhoon Lando claim almost 30 lives and effect millions of others? Jesus asks us, "do you think they were more guilty than everyone else?" Was it because of their sins they died? Did Jesus die for his own sins or for yours and mine? So the next time you ask God why there are starving children, be ready to let him ask you, who has the capacity to help, "Indeed, why are there starving children?" You can read the signs of weather and wind, but chose to ignore the moral signs of good and evil revealed to your conscience? Ok little man, go ahead and ignore the call to repent. Don't change. Don't be surprised then when a typhoon of evil or hail storm of hurt rains down on you, for the worst punishments are the effects of our own ill choices. Choose now to change, while you are still aware of the signs of right and wrong, or the day will soon come when your conscience will hand you over to the judge and the judge will hand you over to prison.

Today I saw once again Jesus' thirst for souls. During prayer I asked Him how He wanted me to serve a particular person. I felt such an urgency on His part, "I want to be closer to her. Do not withhold teaching about me. Thin is the veil that lies between Me and souls, how I want to tear it away!" I immediately contacted her and asked if we could talk. I shared with her about the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus that beats with love for her. She said she wants to know Jesus more and receive Him in Holy Communion, I gave her a rosary from the Sisters, which we prayed together, and initiated instruction. Later she said, "I was praying for a sign from God. You're probably the sign I was looking for." Christian! Remember you are a sign of Jesus Christ! Be not afraid to share His supreme Mercy with souls!

Today I was overjoyed to hold a deformed little toddler at the Mother Teresa shelter. I kept shouting in her language, "Magayon ka talaga!" (You are so very beautiful!) She grabbed my hand so hard I thought she was going to squeeze it off and started laughing and screaming with glee. I turned around and the women who watch over them were weeping in a moment of beauty and grace. God makes us beautiful by the way he loves us. He does not love us because we are beautiful.

As a bird was flying through the sanctuary and many gathering outside, I gave a homily on how you need to have a birdwatching course to recognize a bird, the same way you need Jesus in the Eucharist to recognize God in daily life, in the poor, in prayer, in your neighbor/family. Then I come home, miles away from the church, and there, trapped in my room, is the same kind of bird I saw minutes before. What is God trying to tell me? Comments please....
