Today I am utterly overwhelmed with a Christmas reflection that refuses to leave my mind. I am consumed with gratitude that God chooses, like the conditions of Bethlehem of old, the darkness, coldness, rejection, the very cave of my heart in which to be born. He delights to be born in my nothingness that he may be all in me! I'm so glad I get to see one of my most favorite people of all time, my niece, @baylynpaige riviere. She is newly married and pregnant for the first time and always full of new joy. Every time I see her she teaches me something new about how to love and how to live. I am such a better person and better priest because God created her.
