He wrote me last Thanksgiving, offering me a place to go when I am away from my family: “I want you to count me as your friend. You are my friend, and, anything you need, please ask. I would like you to feel free to call me anytime just to chat. My house is always open to you. Just text or call. Besides your job as a priest. I enjoy a lot my time with you. I guess I just wanted to tell you that I’m here for you my friend.”
